The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Thursday that all international visitors intending to travel to Thailand must fill out an online arrival card before their arrival in the country beginning May 1st.
The necessary details can be entered on the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) site, which was created by the Immigration Bureau, as stated by ministry spokesperson Nikorndeb Balankura.
He mentioned that a TDAC application will soon be accessible to both Android and iOS users.
Consular and diplomatic employees, along with members of certain international organizations, including their family members and staff, and foreign officials who are on official duty, are exempt from this requirement.
The TDAC will take the place of the TM6 paper form, previously required for all visitors to complete when clearing immigration. The utilization of TM6 forms was halted last year.
"All international travelers must complete the TDAC form regardless of whether they enter by air, sea, or land," stated Mr. Nikorndej.
The details provided by the visitors will enable us to offer suitable care and support throughout their time in Thailand.
He mentioned that tourists can submit their TDAC applications up to three days before arriving in Thailand. They must provide their passport or travel document information, along with their Thai accommodations' addresses and specific health data.
Individuals who have visited cities or ports deemed as high-risk zones for contagious illnesses during the 14-day period before entering Thailand might be required to provide further details, according to Mr. Nikorndej.
He mentioned that applications can be modified prior to being submitted, and submitting them as a group is an option too.
We want to make clear that the TDAC is not a visa; rather, it is a digital entry card designed to simplify travel to Thailand," he stated. "It’s important to remember that Thai citizens do not need to fill out the TDAC upon their return to Thailand.
'People coming from abroad who intend to enter Thailand starting May 1 can use the TDAC system beginning April 28.'
