The Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology in Minna, Professor Faruk Adamu Kuta, has urged newly enrolled students to maintain discipline, integrity, and personal growth as fundamental principles during their studies.
At the 37th Matriculation Ceremony of the institution, the Vice Chancellor highlighted that the university greatly values character and cautioned students about avoiding participation in examination misconduct, cult activities, substance abuse, and other prohibited actions as detailed in the Students' Handbook.

Professor Kuta, presented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics), Engr. Prof. Abdullahi Mohammed, gave an address on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at the primary campus of the institution located in Gidan Kwano, Minna. In his speech, he emphasized the significance of maintaining honesty and adhering to university rules, highlighting how crucial these principles are for both individual development and achieving excellence academically as well as professionally.
He emphasized the university’s educational facilities, stating, "Our educational setting boasts cutting-edge libraries, labs, workshops, and online learning tools—all tailored to aid both your academic growth and career preparation. He encouraged the students to stay alert and promptly inform the security team about any unusual activities or items, emphasizing that the well-being of the students continues to be the university’s primary concern.
"The University Health Services (UHS) is here to address your healthcare requirements—please refrain from self-medicating. Additionally, we highly recommend getting involved in sports and extracurricular activities since they play a crucial role in enhancing your physical well-being, team collaboration, and leadership abilities," he emphasized.
Professor Kuta urged the students to strive for excellence, emphasizing that it stems from dedication, persistence, and self-control. He underscored that "there are no easy paths to success."
He finished his speech by praising the students for selecting FUT Minna, calling it a courageous and intelligent choice that lays the groundwork for a promising future.
