Critics of President Donald Trump frequently charge that his followers exhibit behavior reminiscent of a cult. Two recent instances are now drawing particular attention. Media Matters' Matt Gertz and former Rep. Joe Walsh (R-Illinois), a conservative who opposed Trump.
Trump, on occasion, has accused Fox News and Fox Business of not being sufficiently supportive of him. And Fox News' competitor, Newsmax, prides itself on being to the right of Fox News and even more pro-Trump. But in reality, Fox News' and Fox Business are extremely pro-Trump. And Gertz is highlighting a recent example: Fox News' response to Trump announcing, on April 9, a 90-day postponement of most non-China tariffs.
Trump made his tariffs announcement at a time when his steep new tariffs were causing the stock market to tank and JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon was saying a recession was "likely."

However, as Gertz pointed out, Fox News was reframing the announcement to portray Trump as a virtuoso at "making deals."
Gertz tweeted 'The Art of the Deal': Fox commentators spin aggressively for Trump’s 'major' tariff 'victory.'
In a separate tweet Gertz commented, "In the meantime, journalists from networks such as Fox noted that Trump had 'surrendered' due to concerns that his arbitrary imposition of substantial tariffs on every one of our trade partners was causing a downturn in the bond market."
X user The Darkest Timeline Numbersmuncher In reply to Gertz, they posted on Twitter, "You can’t tell the difference between Fox News and ‘state media’ or a religiously affiliated media outlet. This goes beyond satire, yet they are fully aware of their actions."

Conservative supporter of Never Trump stance, Justin Sexton shared Our esteemed leader demonstrated exceptional patriotism by causing the DOW to drop 1,776 points.
Writer John Thorsson commented It truly is remarkable how Fox has turned into the counterpart of RT.
In the meantime, social media users highlighted a Thursday cabinet meeting as evidence of a fanatical loyalty to Trump.
Tommy Vietor, who was part of the former Barack Obama administration, penned ", “Everybody ought to view these cabinet meetings from the Trump administration. Today’s typical cabinet gatherings often resemble performances rather than actual debates or discussions; however, this one features an intense display of clapping and emotional displays akin to those seen under North Korean regimes, aimed at humiliating everyone present as though they were subjects before their leader.”
Walsh and journalist Aaron Ruper claim that U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi was one of the Cabinet members showing signs of cult-like conduct.
Rupar tweeted , Pam Bondi shamelessly lies, telling Trump that he was 'elected with an overwhelming mandate as the candidate receiving the largest share of votes,' and claims that 'you possess the power to decide how the nation’s funds should be allocated.'
Wash, responding to Rupar's tweeted , post, "This is incredibly disgusting. This is like a cult."
