China's Mega Airport Terminal: Top 100 Global Gems as Ranked by Skytrax

Beijing Daxling International Airport in China, which boasts the globe’s biggest airport terminal, has been placed at number 97 on Skytrax’s ranking of the world's top 100 airports this year. This marks an improvement of 28 positions compared to its position last year.

The rankings provided by Skytrax, a British platform for reviewing airlines and airports, were determined through passenger satisfaction surveys that assessed various aspects including check-in processes, arrival experiences, transfer services, shopping facilities, security measures, immigration procedures, and departure protocols.

Situated approximately 45 kilometers away from central Beijing, this airport features a terminal spanning 700,000 square meters along with four runways. By 2025, it was designed to accommodate up to 72 million passengers each year.

By 2040, the airport aims to increase its capacity to eight runways and handle as many as 100 million travelers annually.

Resembling a phoenix from certain perspectives but evoking images of a starfish to others, this airport was conceptualized by renowned architect Zaha Hadid, who hails from Iraq. Reuters.

Changi Airport Singapore was crowned the world's top airport this year, with Hamad International Airport in Qatar coming in second place, followed by Tokyo International Airport in Japan and Incheon International Airport in South Korea.
