Ogun Closes Olumo Rock for a Makeover: International Edition

The renovation and refurbishment of the Olumo Rock Tourist Complex in Abeokuta will result in the temporary shutdown of the location starting Monday, April 14, 2025, according to the Ogun State Government.

A declaration penned by Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Sesan Fagbayi, indicated that this move forms part of an extensive pledge to rejuvenate one of the state’s premier attractions, enhance visitors' experiences, and implement robust safety protocols throughout the restoration process.

The commissioner mentioned that Olumo Rock attracts more than 70,000 tourists and visitors each year, necessitating an appropriate appearance; thus, the decision was made for renovations.
