15 Flights Diverted as Dust Storm Hits Delhi: Air India Issues Travel Advisory

New Delhi [Mumbai], April 11 (ANI): A total of fifteen flights were redirected, with multiple others experiencing delays at the airport. Delhi airport on Friday due to dust storms and gusty winds, as per the Airport sources.

Delhi encountered dust storms on Friday evening. Various areas throughout Delhi were affected because of the shift in weather conditions, which also offered respite from the intense heat.

Air India issued a travel warning for their travelers following the abrupt shift in weather conditions. Delhi As per the advisory, severe thunderstorms accompanied by strong gusts have impacted aviation activities throughout various regions in North India. Consequently, this has led to disruptions for certain flights in these areas. Air India flights from Delhi have either been rerouted or are experiencing delays.

The authorities are closely tracking the situation and are exerting their utmost effort to minimize disruptions.

Adverse weather conditions, due to intense thunderstorms and strong winds, have impacted flight operations in several areas of Northern India. Several parts of Delhi saw a dust storm on Friday night causing trees to fall in certain regions and locals closing their windows to keep out the dust.

Road traffic was similarly hindered due to fallen trees or branches. Additionally, flight activities faced disruptions in several areas of northern India. Delhi saw a dust storm on Thursday as well.

Previously, the India Meteorological Department had announced an Orange Warning for thunderstorms, lightning, and hailstorms across four districts in Himachal Pradesh. Additionally, they issued Yellow Warnings for another four districts. (ANI)
