Three people have died after a small plane crashed into a highway in a city in Florida .

A driver was hurt when they crashed into a tree while trying to avoid both the debris and the flames.

'The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will be handling the investigation,' the agency further stated. 'We anticipate that the road closures will continue for an extended period.'

Scattered debris covered both the roadway and a nearby railroad track.

One of the victims' bodies seemed to appear momentarily in the initial live broadcast from a nearby news helicopter.

The aircraft was a Cessna 310R, as per registration records from the Federal Aviation Administration .

In the subsequent month, 18 individuals sustained injuries when an additional Bombardier aircraft flipped over upon landing at Toronto Pearson Airport in Canada.

In March, a Boeing aircraft burst into flames soon after touching down in Denver, but all passengers were able to exit safely.
