Cristiano Ronaldo Has revealed an unexpected career transition that will take him onto a new path outside of his usual role on the field.
Presently playing for a team in the Saudi Pro League Al-Nassr , Ronaldo, who is 40 years old, is launching a new business endeavor as he approaches the later stages of his professional career.
This will involve him teaming up with filmmaker Matthew Vaughn, aged 54, who produced "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" and directed crime movies like "Snatch," and "Layer Cake."
Ronaldo and Vaughn have teamed up to create a new venture called UR MARV, an independent film company dedicated to integrating cutting-edge technology while also paying homage to classic methods.
A post made on Ronaldo’s verified profile on X, previously known as Twitter, read Twitter , stated: 'Cristiano Ronaldo enjoys films; Matthew Vaughn has a passion for sports - and they share an appreciation for a compelling narrative.'
'They both have been groundbreaking leaders in their respective fields and will now merge the worlds of sports and narrative through the introduction of UR MARV, an autonomous collaborative movie production company that integrates cutting-edge tech with a respect for heritage.'
Ronaldo added: 'This is an exciting chapter for me, as I look ahead to new ventures in business.'
Vaughan also mentioned: "Cristiano has produced narratives on the field that I could never have penned, and I am eager to produce motivational films featuring him — he’s a genuine life hero."
This is not Ronaldo's first foray into ventures beyond soccer, as he additionally owns his own hotel chain along with perfume and clothing lines.
In 2015, Ronaldo entered into a partnership with the Pestana Group, headquartered in Madeira, which belongs to millionaire Dionisio Pestana and was established by his father, Manuel.
The tourism and leisure company similarly had multiple hotels spread throughout Portugal, yet they teamed up with Ronaldo for a 50/50 collaboration aimed at launching an exclusive line under his CR7 label.
So far, five establishments have been set up, with Lisbon and Funchal being the two Portuguese venues for CR7 hotels. The brand also encompasses a property at Times Square in New York, along with properties in Madrid and Marrakech.
"The inaugural Pestana CR7 location had to be in Funchal – my hometown which was also recognized as the world’s leading island by the World Travel Awards," Ronaldo stated during the launch of his first hotel back in 2016.
'I am immensely proud to inaugurate this, my inaugural hotel. This event signifies my entry into an entirely new domain. I have no doubt that this ambitious venture will achieve remarkable success across every corner of the globe.'
Not surprisingly, the boutique hotels have guaranteed luxury, with the Funchal hotel asserting that its guests will experience the lifestyle they deserve.
The hotel boasts a blush-colored infinity pool along with facilities such as a fitness center, sauna, and an open-air Jacuzzi. Additionally, visitors can enjoy complimentary entry to the Cristiano Ronaldo museum.
It is also said that Ronaldo has created workout routines at the hotel’s outdoor gym.
Not surprisingly, sports are prominently featured as a key element in all CR7 hotel locations. Meanwhile, the rooms at the New York site draw inspiration from the colors and artwork of Portugal.
